Christmas seems to come earlier every year.

This is also the case with the early bird discount for Christmas at the Princess, one of Arizona's most popular Christmas traditions, at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess.

Christmas at Princess 2024 begins on November 22nd and runs until January 4th, 2025. Until July 31st, Princess is offering an early bird discount with discounts on admission and overnight stays.

This Christmas in July sale is the earliest the resort has offered its holiday special. When the sale began last year in early September, resort spokesman John Glynn said the popularity of the event prompted an earlier start to sales because dates were booking up so quickly.

This was also the case this year, he said.

“We like to play on the theme and the old saying of Christmas in July,” said Glynn. “It's a fun time of year when many families come together and make their travel and vacation plans for the rest of the year. Additionally, due to the popularity of the event, we wanted to give guests the opportunity to book early so they can get their preferred dates and make their plans in advance.”

The earlier launch coincides with a new holiday event from a Phoenix resort that's offering its own early bird offer. JW Marriott Phoenix Desert Ridge Resort & Spa recently announced Jingle at JW Desert Ridge, which will feature an ice skating rink, virtual skiing and snowboarding, and fire table rentals. The early bird offer includes 30% off best available rates.

Christmas at Princess 2024: What’s new

New to this year's Christmas at Princess are a 110-foot-tall Ferris wheel, a light show on the lagoon and an expanded ice slide, Glynn said.

Other activities include the fan-favorite 6,000-square-foot ice skating rink, two Santa experiences, relaxing at VIP fire pits and in igloos, and seeing the resort decorated with 10 million lights.

How much is admission to Princess for Christmas?

Entry to the Princess during Christmas is free for hotel guests.

Ticket prices for the general public are still being determined. Glynn said there will be “value days” where people can get up to 30% off. The value days will be posted on the resort's website in November.

Last year, admission was $35 per person plus parking fees, which are $35 for self-parking and $120 for valet parking.

Offers and discounts for Christmas at Princess 2024

The Christmas in July sale includes 40% off the best available rates for stays from November 22 to January 4, 2025.

The Arizona Republic checked prices for a stay Nov. 25-27, just before Thanksgiving. When we applied the discount, we found a room with a king bed for $389 per night, which was $141 less than the best available rate of $530. A junior suite with a king bed in the resort's ultra-luxurious Privado Villas costs $619 per night for the same dates, a savings of $236 off the best available rate.

Offer does not cover resort fee of $52 per night. Excluded dates include December 3-4 and December 28-31.
