Any upcoming road closures in Worcester will be announced

Worcestershire County Council's Roads and Travel Department has announced how many roads will be closed over the next 14 days.

Many roads are currently closed, and many more are planned for August.

Current closures

A major road closure continues to cause delays for commuters traveling in and around the area.

The Old Road has been closed since February 6th and will remain closed until 7pm on September 30th due to an unsafe bridge.

Norton Road has been closed since July 21st and will not reopen until 5pm on September 27th.

This closure is part of the Toucan Crossings Programme on Bath Road and is designed to allow carriageway and pavement realignment on motorways and installation of lowered crossings.

On the other side of town, Hillery Road will remain closed until approximately 4.30pm on August 15 for footpath renovations.

Reservoir Lane has been closed since Valentine's Day due to a collapsed private wall and will not reopen until 12pm on August 19th.

Waterworks Road was closed on Thursday 25 July and will remain closed until approximately 4.30pm on Monday 29 July to install a lowered vehicle crossing.

Cadent will close four streets

Three nearby roads in and around Perdiswell will be closed over the next few weeks so Cadent can replace old gas pipes with new plastic ones.

Motorists will be unable to travel on Beech Avenue until midnight on Friday, August 2, while Beech Avenue North will be closed on Monday, August 5 and will remain closed until August 16.

And Bilford Road was closed on Monday 22 July and will not reopen until 17 August for the same reason.

Orchard Street will also be closed by Cadent between Monday 5 August and Thursday 8 August for roadworks.

Upcoming closures

Wylds Lane will be closed to motorists between 4pm on Monday 5 August and 4pm on 16 August to allow for kerb realignment, lane markings and the installation of a slip resistant road surface.

The High Street will be closed between 6pm on Thursday 1st August and 5am on Friday 2nd August for the replacement of a second floor window.

Worcester High Street will be closed overnight

Canterbury Road will be closed on Monday 5 August and will not reopen until 5pm on 30 August. During this time, the road surface will be resurfaced over two days.

Due to the hydrant replacement on the roadway, there will be an overnight road closure on Newtown Road between 9:00 p.m. August 8th and 6:00 a.m. August 9th.

And Pump Street will be closed on Sunday, August 4, for the installation of a new residential gas line.
