Journées du Patrimoine 2024 in Paris: The French Basketball Federation opens its museum rooms

  • Overture of the Space Museum FFBB

    On September 21, between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m., visitors will visit the Basket Gallery and the Yvan Mainini Research and Documentation Center. The gallery will feature remarkable pieces from the museum's collections and the stage will feature a scene from the history of the museum and the peculiarities of its development in France. From jerseys of great teams, from equipment from all eras, from medals awarded to French teams (at the Olympic Games, in the World Cup and in the World Champion title), an old basketball maquette of the world, the affiche, etc. In the research center, the books of the Bibliothèque of the Musée du Basket and the historical archives of the FFBB are regularly reserved for searchers, students and journalists. A selection of documents and papers will be made available to the public. Throughout the trip, visitors alternated with the members of the Commission Patrimoine & Légendes de la FFBB and the Club des Internationaux, all wearing the jersey of the French basketball team.

    The members of the Musée du Basket, the Commission Patrimoine de la FFBB and the Club des Internationaux de Basket suggested that we leave comments throughout the trip on the Espace Museum, which opened in 2011. The visit lasted 30 minutes each hour. Visits start daily outside (10am, 11am, 12pm, 2pm, 3pm, 4pm, 5pm).
