This summer you can celebrate Christmas in a hidden, festively decorated bar

If you can't wait for Christmas to arrive, look no further as a bar with a festive feel is opening in London this summer.

Created by DesignMyNight, Mistletoe Mixer at Merchant House is set to be a “kitschy and playful, festive two-week pop-up.”

However, you will have to search to find the special bar as it is hidden behind a secret toilet door.

When you find the door and head to the Christmas bar, retro decor, eggnog cocktails and non-stop Christmas hits await you in the August heat.

Christmas bar opens in London in August

The two-week pop-up is said to be the first of its kind in London and has been curated by experiential event specialist EDNAEDNA, while the cocktails have been created by the Merchant House team themselves.

Some of the Christmas cocktails on the menu include “Keep your change, ya filthy Flip!”, an eggnog drink with toasted marshmallow; “It's a beaut, Clark! It's a flute!”, a peppermint champagne sip garnished with candy canes.

There will also be “Fraa-jeel-away! That must be Italian!”, a Negroni-style drink with rosemary and juniper, and “It's because I'm green isn't it?”, a delicious highball with spiced apple and ginger rum.

LITERATURE RECOMMENDATIONS

The Mistletoe Mixer is ticketed and opens its doors from Thursday 1st August to Saturday 17th August from 5pm to midnight at the Merchant House.

Tuesday and Wednesday are reserved for group experience bookings, which last 150 minutes and offer exclusive use of the premises and the option to add cheese and charcuterie platters.

From Thursday to Saturday, general tickets with a duration of 60 to 90 minutes are reserved.
