Super League, we mean business. Against Piacenza and Allianz. Monza wants to make the playoffs

Mint Vero Volley Monza awaits the first of two decisive away matches for the Super League playoff rankings. While waiting for the Lombard derby against Allianz Milano scheduled for Valentine's Day, the boys of the consortium visit Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza today at 5.30 p.m., the third force in the championship, capable of imposing itself against the world champions of Sir Safety Susa Perugia. The team from Brianza, fresh from the victory in Istanbul that earned them a place in the final of the Challenge Cup, will still have to do without the Japanese Ran Takahashi. Erik Loeppky will nevertheless replace him. It will not be an easy day for a tired and underdog team that, however, beat the Italian champions Itas Trentino in the same conditions and then almost triumphed in the Italian Cup in Casalecchio di Reno (Bologna). Monza is currently in seventh place, but that could change, also because the calendar seems less demanding in recent days and the gap to Verona remains very small. Coach Massimo Eccheli is concentrating on Piacenza: “We are playing against a team that has got its injured players fit again and has managed to hold its own at the top of the table despite important departures. On the last day they won against the world champions from Perugia, showing that we are in good shape: a difficult game awaits us.”
