Sadie Sink | Sadie Sink 'wasn't in love' when she made the Taylor Swift movie

Sadie Sink had “never been in love” when she starred in Taylor Swift’s “All Too Well: The Short Film.”

The “Stranger Things” star appeared in the extended music video as a young woman in a toxic relationship, but admitted that the storyline was “completely new territory” and she had to draw on her “years of research as a Swiftie” to find the right emotions.

In Variety's new issue, “Power of Young Hollywood,” she said, “At that point, I had never been in love. I had never experienced a breakup that intense. This was all new territory for me. All I could rely on was my years of research as a Swiftie.”

But the 22-year-old actress was shocked when her own emotions came to the surface and vowed to “work on herself” afterwards.

Explaining that she always relied on her character's circumstances rather than her real experiences to bring emotion to a scene, she added: “But as time went on, things from my personal life came to the fore that gave the whole thing even more fuel.

“Then I thought, 'Wow. Maybe I should do some work on Sadie in those areas.'”

That's why Sadie removed “All Too Well” from her relaxation playlist while filming Stranger Things because the song evokes so many emotions in her.

She said: “It triggers this incredibly nostalgic feeling in me now that I can feel physically.

“It’s too intense.”

Sadie joined Stranger Things as Max in the second season at the age of 14. And although growing up with the series was “the best education in the world” for her, she admitted that it can also be a tough job.

She said: “I worked all last week and I thought, 'Oh my God, I forgot how difficult this show is.'

“Here you're a team player. It's not about me. It's not about anyone else. It's about the show and what's best for them.”

And for her next career step, the “Whale” star is not aiming for a major Hollywood blockbuster.

She said: “I don't want to play a superhero or a princess. I just want to make sure that everything I do is different from the last time. I'm still young and I'm still learning.”
