Bridget Jones 4 receives major update on filming

Bridget Jones 4 has given fans an exciting update on filming.

Filming on “Bridget Jones: There’s Something About the Boy” has officially finished. The film’s production company, Working Title, announced this milestone on X (formerly Twitter).

“That's it. See you on Valentine's Day,” reads the caption, reminding audiences of the film's theatrical release next year.

The picture shows two camera screens next to a chair with “Bridget Jones” written on the back. In the background you can see the Globe Pub in London's Borough Market.

Fans of the first three films will know that the pub serves as the exterior of Bridget's apartment – and the photo suggests that we'll see her trusty abode again in the upcoming film.

The fourth Bridget Jones film is based on the book of the same name by Helen Fielding, which was published in 2013. Renée Zellweger once again slips into her cult role from the romantic comedy and Hugh Grant can be seen again as Daniel Cleaver after he was conspicuously absent from the third film, Bridget Jones' Baby.

Unfortunately, Colin Firth will not be seen again as Mark Darcy in the next film based on the plot of Fielding's book.

Nevertheless, fans can look forward to seeing familiar faces Gemma Jones and Jim Broadbent as Bridget's parents, and actors Sally Phillips, Shirley Henderson and James Callis will return as long-time friends Sharon, Jude and Tom.

Other returning cast members include Emma Thompson (aka Dr. Rawlings) and Bridget's co-worker Miranda (Sarah Solemani), both of whom appeared in the third film.

The fourth part will also feature some new stars in the cast, including Chiwetel Ejiofor from “Doctor Strange” and Leo Woodall from “One Day,” as well as Nico Parker from “The Last of Us” and Leila Farzad from “I Hate Suzie.”

Filming on Bridget Jones 4 began in May this year, with Zellweger spotted filming on location in London's Hampstead Heath and Haverstock Hill.

“Bridget Jones: There’s Something About the Boy” will be released in theaters on February 14, 2025.
