Giannis reacts to Milwaukee Bucks' cancellation of 2024 Christmas game

Now in his true offseason following Greece's elimination from the Olympics, Giannis Antetokounmpo responded Friday to a report that the Milwaukee Bucks will not play on Christmas for the first time since the 2017-18 season.

Antetokounmpo simply posted on several social media platforms, “No Christmas game?!” with a laughing and crying emoji.

Milwaukee, which was knocked out of the first round of the playoffs for the second year in a row, was reportedly passed over in favor of the San Antonio Spurs (and Victor Wembanyama), Denver, Dallas, Minnesota, Phoenix, Golden State and the Los Angeles Lakers. New York also remains a Christmas Day fixture, making its 56th appearance.

The Bucks lost 129-122 to the Knicks in a matinee at Madison Square Garden on December 25 last year, dropping the franchise's all-time Christmas record to 5-5. The team did not play on Christmas from 1978 to 2017.

Milwaukee last hosted a game on this holiday in 2021.

The NBA schedule has not yet been officially released, but a social media post by The Athletic detailing possible matchups that day did not include the Bucks.

The full schedule, including the revamped season tournament, is expected to be unveiled next week, as Bucks season ticket holders have been told they will be able to purchase individual tickets to games starting August 16.
