Release date of “Bridget Jones 4” announced as Renée Zellweger completes filming of the next installment

The release date for Bridget Jones 4 has been announced.

The fourth installment in the acclaimed franchise – based on the books by Helen Fielding – is titled “Bridget Jones: There’s Something About the Boy” and Renée Zellweger returns as a witty single.

Production company Working Title released an update on “X” on Friday after filming on the next installment was completed and confirmed that it will hit theaters on Valentine's Day.

A photo uploaded to her account shows a director's chair in front of the iconic figure's house on Borough Market with the Globe Tavern in the background.

“That's it. See you on Valentine's Day,” they wrote.

The announcement comes after The Mail on Sunday revealed Colin Firth'S Mark Darcy is now supposed to be reunited with Bridget Jones.

When the actor's name was missing from the cast list, fans feared his character had died.

In Helen Fielding's novels, he dies after marrying Bridget and later while working as a human rights lawyer abroad.

However, in exclusive photos from the set of “Bridget Jones: There’s Something About the Boy,” Renee can be seen lovingly interacting with her co-star Colin.

Since Bridget is navigating life as a widow four years after Darcy's death in Fielding's novel “Made About the Boy”, Firth's return is a huge surprise that the film bosses were keen to keep secret.

A source said: “It was clear from the start that Colin would appear in the film, but it was supposed to remain a secret.”

In the final film, Bridget Jones' Baby, she is seen attending the funeral of her other on-off love, Daniel Cleaver, played by Hugh Grant, who is presumed dead after a plane crash. He is later found alive.

Fans will have to wait to find out if Darcy is that lucky or just appears in a dream sequence.

As the Mail on Sunday revealed earlier this year, Jones will face a three-way battle for her affections: Cleaver, a much younger man called Rockstar, played by One Day heartthrob Leo Woodall, and Mr. Walker, played by Chiwetel Ejiofor's 12 Years a Slave star.

Bridget, now a mother of two, falls in love with Mr. Walker, who teaches physical education at her son's school, before turning her attention to the attractive rock star she meets through social media.

As the Mail on Sunday previously reported, Bridget will give up her famous bachelor pad in London's Borough Market in favour of a family home in leafy Hampstead in north London, where so many scenes have been filmed in recent months.
