Bullet For My Valentine releases 20th anniversary edition of The Poison with bonus songs and the album “Live At Brixton”

Bullet For My Valentine have released a new album for their 20th anniversary The poison.

The Welsh metalcore stars will release 4LPs and 2CDs of their popular debut album on November 29th. Both sets include the record with the original bonus tracks as well as the band's 2006 live album. Live in Brixton.

The 4LP edition also includes a copy of the 2005 Bullet For My Valentine EP. Hand of Blood. It is part of a box set that includes new illustrations, a coffee table book, a pin, a bandana, a replica AAA pass, and other extras.

A standard 1LP vinyl version featuring the track listing of the original album will also be available.

Bullet For My Valentine singer and guitarist Matt Tuck comments: “I honestly can’t believe that since the release of The poisonand what incredible 20 years it was.

“I'm so proud of what we've accomplished as a band over the last two decades, and it all started with this debut album. The poison is such an important part of our lives musically and personally and we know what a huge impact it has had on the metal world on a global level.”

Bullet For My Valentine released The poison to positive reviews on October 3, 2005. It reached number one on the UK Rock and Metal charts and number 21 on the overall UK album charts and number 128 on the US Billboard 200.

The album spawned the single Tears do not fallwhose music video became a hit on music television channels. On Spotify, the song is Bullet For My Valentine's most listened to song and had over 338 million streams at the time of release. According to Setlist Wiki, it is also the band's most frequently played live song setlist.fm.

The poison was awarded platinum in Germany and gold in the UK and the USA. Metal hammer named it the 17th best metal album of the 2000s in 2023.

The magazine wrote: “The poison owes more to the post-hardcore style of the Welsh band Funeral For A Friend than Converge or [Killswitch Engage]but the intoxicating mix of raw emotion, rousing riffs and irresistible hooks made Bullet seem like champions from the start, the defiant roar of Your voice remains a sign that US dominance in metalcore would not remain as unchallenged as in nu metal.”

Bullet For My Valentine continues to celebrate 20 years The poison on a co-headlining world tour with Trivium next year. The band will play The poison full-length, and Trivium will do the same for their own highly acclaimed 2005 album, RiseThe list of announced dates can be found below.
