Richard E. Grant can hardly contain his excitement for the Oscars on Sunday evening! The British actor, who is best known for his role in Can you ever forgive me?has been sharing his Oscar journey with his fans since he got the call in January that he was nominated for an award. And just days before the big night, Richard has headed to Hollywood with his beloved daughter Olivia. The star – who usually keeps his private life out of the public eye – couldn't resist sharing a sweet photo of the pair on their flight. In the picture, they are seen with big grins, and he wrote alongside it: “Haha. Trying to look relaxed and casual for Oscar weekend coming up but can't contain our excitement!”

Olivia – Richard's only child – has been by her father's side throughout his trip. The doting dad also paid tribute to his daughter just before they left the UK. Posting two photos of himself and Olivia as children, he wrote: “Permed wig for a play in 1993 and I'm over the moon that my little @oliviagranted is now all grown up and by my side 24 years later to fly on the magic carpet to the Oscars!” Undoubtedly a family man, Richard has been married to his wife Joan Grant for 32 years. Richard recently posted a heartwarming message about their happy relationship on Valentine's Day, posting a picture of them together with the caption: “Married 32 years ago @joandialect together for 36 years and counting…”

In January, Richard spoke about suddenly winning an award after 40 years as an actor. Speaking to the Press Association at the London Critics' Circle Film Awards, he said: “I've never been nominated for anything before and I've been an actor for 40 years, so for this to suddenly happen to me at my age is completely amazing and brilliant.”
