Chicago Crime: Masked Thief Breaks Into Verzenay Chicago on North Lincoln Avenue in Wrightwood Neighbors, Video Shows

CHICAGO (WLS) — At least one thief broke into a North Side bakery on Sunday evening.

It happened at Verzenay Chicago on North Lincoln Avenue in the Wrightwood Neighbors neighborhood shortly after 9:30 a.m.

The video shows a masked person on a bicycle in front of the bakery. He is searching through a backpack that apparently contains a tool.

According to police, the thief broke through the front door, took money from the cash register and then fled on a bicycle.

The bakery owner assumes that the break-in was carefully planned, as the bakery is usually busy with people at all times of the day.

The owners said they have already replaced the broken door. Police have not yet made any arrests.
