“The Real Murders on Elm Street” and other true crime series appear on ID

Since Investigation Discovery entered the world of streaming, it has become even more popular. If viewers can't watch an episode when it airs on the cable network, they can stream it on Discovery+. Hulu and Max are two other platforms where you can watch shows from Discovery.

Most recently, Investigation Discover caused a stir with the shocking documentary Peace on the set: The dark side of children's television. Discovery has heard us loud and clear, viewers want more true crime dramas! Coming soon, ID The Real Murders on Elm Street, How to (not) Get Rid of a Body, And Cabin in the forest. All three true crime series will premiere in September 2024. Here's everything we know about these true crime shows so far.

How far are murderers willing to go to get away with their crimes? Stream on September 4 How to (not) get rid of a body to get the shocking answer, as each episode tackles a different mystery through witness testimony, interviews and never-before-seen footage. Will airing these unsolved cases help bring justice to the victims? That's what investigators and people involved in the investigations into these cases hope!

The title of the series is not the only allusion to Wes Craven’s horror series of the same name, but The Real Murders on Elm Street is actually set on a street with that name. Or rather, the stories are set on several Elm Streets across America. Each episode of the six-part series deals with a different murder (or series of murders) that changed Elm Street forever. Watch The Real Murders on Elm Street on September 9th.

Also premiering on September 9th: Cabin in the forest, which may remind you of the horror movie. Just like The Real Murders on Elm Street, The series Cabin in the forest is also a reference to the 2011 horror comedy of the same name. The true crime documentary series investigates crimes that took place in remote cabins. Deadline, the website that broke the news, also reports that Cabin in the forest contains “investigative elements in the style of ‘True Crime meets True Horror’.”
