Teenager in hospital after boating accident on Lake Winnipesaukee

GILFORD – A 17-year-old was hospitalized after a boating accident on Lake Winnipesaukee on Aug. 13.

The New Hampshire State Police Marine Patrol received a 911 call at 4:56 p.m. reporting that a teenager was unconscious while riding a rubber dinghy near Little Camp Island.

Sergeant Nicholas Haroutunian and Marine Patrol Chief David Jones quickly arrived at the scene and found the teenager's father on board the boat, performing life-saving measures.

Officers took over life-saving efforts and coordinated with the arriving Gilford Fire Department rescue boat.

The teenager was taken to shore by rescue personnel and later taken to Concord Hospital – Laconia in critical but stable condition.

Agencies such as Gilford Fire Rescue and the Laconia Fire Department responded to the scene.
