The Salvation Army sets up a response team and cares for thousands

In response to flooding caused by Tropical Storm Debby and rising tides, The Salvation Army has established an Emergency Management Team (IMT) in Savannah, according to a press release.

Since August 5, The Salvation Army has been providing assistance and support to first responders, shelters, emergency response centers and those affected in Bryan, Bullock, Chatham and Effingham Counties.

The IMT has been leading field operations, coordinating efforts and distributing aid, serving nearly 7,000 meals and beverages and nearly 10,000 snacks to those affected in the worst-affected areas.
