Man accused of threatening Rogers' employee found not guilty | News

A man accused of attacking an aide to Congressman Hal Rogers has been found not guilty by a federal court jury.

Rodney B. Watson was charged with threatening a federal officer.

The indictment against Watson states that he “threatened to assault and murder Carlos Cameron, district director for Congressman Hal Rogers, with the intent to obstruct, intimidate, and interfere with Carlos Cameron in the performance of his official duties.”

The incident reportedly occurred at Rogers' office in Pulaski County.

Cameron was appointed Rogers District Director in June 2020.

The trial began on Monday morning in the US District Court in London.

According to court records, during the two-day trial, jurors heard testimony from four government witnesses and one defense witness.

Thursday morning began with closing arguments from both sides. After deliberations, the jury unanimously acquitted.

Judge Robert E. Wier then signed an order releasing Watson and returning any bail he might have paid.
