Plymouth man charged with murder of his father found stabbed to death, prosecutor says – Boston 25 News

PLYMOUTH, Massachusetts – The son of a man found stabbed to death in a Plymouth home Thursday morning faces murder charges.

Matthew Paluzzi, 26, was arrested shortly before 11 a.m. in the area of 198 Columbia Road in Hanover after a manhunt that encompassed several South Shore communities, according to Plymouth District Attorney Timothy Cruz. On Thursday afternoon, the Plymouth District Attorney announced that Paluzzi had been formally charged with the murder of his father, 76-year-old Anthony Paluzzi.

Surveillance video from a nearby gas station showed a swarm of police vehicles surrounding Paluzzi's car and taking him into custody, transporting him to Plymouth Police Headquarters.

According to Cruz, officers responded to a home at 15 Cedar Street in the coastal town of Manomet around 6:30 a.m. after receiving a 911 call from a woman who reported finding her husband unconscious and bleeding from a laceration on his neck.

Cruz noted that a large kitchen knife was found at the crime scene.

Anthony Paluzzi was pronounced dead at home. Cruz said preliminary examinations showed he died from a stab wound to the neck.

Cedar Street is just minutes from White Horse Beach.

A video from the crime scene showed several detectives gathered in front of the house and the neighborhood cordoned off by Plymouth police officers.

Following the fatal stabbing, Plymouth Police issued a public notice stating that they were looking for Matthew Paluzzi in connection with the suspected murder and warned the public not to approach him as he was believed to be armed.

Cruz said the incident did not appear to be a random act of violence and posed no danger to the public.

The investigation is ongoing.
