The letter carrier quickly put the vehicle in gear and fled,” the statement said. The letter carrier drove to another location to report the incident, police said. The letter carrier was not robbed and is physically unharmed, the USPS said. Tewksbury police went to the area and saw a stolen red Hyundai Sonata driving at a high rate of speed on Whipple Road. Officers followed the vehicle to the area of ​​Tomahawk Drive, where the driver jumped out of the vehicle and fled. Several local and state police members and K-9 teams were seen in the area by Sky5. The Massachusetts State Police Airwing was also over the area. Police said a firearm was seized in Grasshopper Lane.
