PWD responds quickly to pipeline leak after O Heraldo report

MARGAO: Responding to the issue raised by O Heraldo, the Public Works Department (PWD) promptly initiated repair work on a leaking pipeline in Manora-Raia, which has been causing significant water wastage for several days. The repair work began on Thursday when PWD personnel visited the site to fix the problem.

Citizens had previously expressed their frustration, claiming that hundreds of litres of water had been wasted due to the ongoing leakage. The situation remained unresolved for several days, causing concern among the local community.

After receiving the complaints, the PWD was quick to respond to the problem. However, during the initial stages of the repair work, the workers faced difficulties in locating the exact location of the leak. Despite these difficulties, the workers persevered and worked tirelessly to repair the pipeline and prevent further water wastage.

The pipeline has been found to be damaged at several places, raising concerns that the main pipeline from Selaulim to Vasco may also be leaking due to these damages. This has further increased the urgency of the situation.
