Family and friends remember Kentucky teenager killed in Columbus road rage shooting

We learn more about the 17-year-old who was killed in a traffic rage shooting at a UDF petrol station on Clime Road in the southwest on Tuesday night.

The 17-year-old was here in Columbus to work with his father at a landscaping company to save up to buy a car.

The Kentucky community is coming to terms with this unexpected loss. Family and friends in Kentucky remember Anderson as a person who always had a smile on his face.

“Such a wholesome, joyful person. He leaves behind a reputation as someone who could light up a room and bring a smile to everyone's face. The memories I personally have of him from high school are ones I'll never forget. It's hard to fill up again,” said a high school friend.

The Greenup School District is hosting a candlelight vigil on Thursday evening.

The suspected shooter was brought to court on Thursday morning.

Skyler Burley, 30, remained silent while wearing a bandage on his head during his first court hearing.

Burley says the teenager charged at him and shot him in self-defense.

His defense attorney mentioned that he was injured, but did not elaborate.

A judge set his bail at $1.5 million.

The family is struggling with their grief and says they are currently planning the 17-year-old's funeral in Kentucky.
