Owner of used car dealership arrested and charged with fraudulent activities

Officials with the Georgetown County Sheriff's Office announced Thursday that the owner of a local used car dealership was arrested and charged with multiple counts following a two-month joint investigation.

The Sheriff's Office, SLED, South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles and the 15th Judicial District Solicitors Office Investigations Division assisted.

Donna Kester Ivey is the owner of Auto Cars of Murrells Inlet. Ivey was arrested and charged with seven counts of failure to display vehicle documents and two counts of check fraud over $5,000.

The investigation is ongoing and residents with information or who believe they have been defrauded by the dealership are asked to call (843) 546-5102.
