Usher postpones all shows in Atlanta after neck injury – 95.5 WSB

ATLANTA – Atlanta superstar Usher has postponed all of his Atlanta dates until December after he said he suffered a neck injury during a rehearsal earlier this week.

The singer was scheduled to perform at State Farm Arena on August 14, 16 and 17, but canceled his August 14 show just hours before it was due to begin, telling fans that he needed time to recover.

“In my 30+ year career, I have put 100 percent of my blood, sweat and tears into delivering the best performance and creating an unforgettable experience for my fans,” Usher wrote in a message he shared on Instagram on August 14. “I fully intend to do the same for this tour, which is why I have to postpone tonight's show and reschedule it for a later date to give my body a second to rest and heal.”

On Thursday, Usher announced the neck injury and said his doctors had instructed him not to perform any shows this week.

“I hope that with physiotherapy and medical treatment I can overcome the injury and be ready for the premiere. Unfortunately, the injury has not healed yet.”

Usher said the good news is that he should be ready to start the tour on August 20 in Washington DC.

“I love my fans and thank you for understanding that this injury must heal so that I can give you the 100 percent peak performance you expect from a USHER show and that I will be on stage in your city very soon.”

The dates in Atlanta have been postponed to December 9, 10 and 12 at the State Farm Arena.
