New photos released of suspect alleged to have robbed 2 women at gunpoint in Roxbury

Authorities released new photos Thursday of a suspect who allegedly robbed two women at gunpoint in Roxbury over the weekend.

According to Boston police, the masked suspect was chasing a grandmother and her 65-year-old cousin at the intersection of Dudley and Clarence Streets around 8:30 p.m.

The suspect pulled out a gun, pointed it at the head of one of the victims and ripped off a necklace of great sentimental value.

The necklace is described as a gold chain with “Portuguese praying hands” and blue beads. The victim says the jewelry was a gift from her son, who died in 2006.

Surveillance video from a nearby business captures the frightening encounter, with the suspect fleeing on foot down Dudley Street before turning left onto Langdon Street.

He is described as Hispanic, approximately 5'5″ to 5'7″ tall, of small build, slim, wearing a dark mask and all black clothing. Police say he spoke only Spanish during the robbery.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the B-2 District Criminal Investigation Division at (617) 343-4275.
