Intel's new CPUs just broke records in leaked benchmarks

Benchmarks for the Intel Core Ultra 7 265KF CPU from the new Arrow Lake line have leaked and show strong performance in several key areas.

The Intel Core Ultra 7 265KF is said to be the second fastest chip in the first Arrow Lake Core Ultra 200K CPU lineup, and according to leaked benchmark numbers from Geekbench 6 tests, it is already capable of breaking some records.

The chip has 20 cores, 20 threads, a base clock of 3.9 GHz and a boost clock of up to 5.5 GHz. There is also 33 MB of L3 cache memory on the chip. The TDP is said to be 125 W.

The Core Ultra 7 265KF was tested by Geekbench with a Gigabyte Z890 Aero G motherboard in the “High Performance” profile.

In the single-core test, the Core Ultra 7 265KF achieved 3219 points and in the multi-core test 19433 points. This puts it 9.3 percent ahead of its predecessor, the Core i9-14700K, and is at the top of the performance charts of Intel CPUs.

In multi-core tests, the difference was less impressive, with the Core Ultra 7 265KF only 1% faster than the Core i9-14700K in these scenarios and lagging significantly behind both the i9-14900KS and the Ryzen 9 9950X.

In general, the Core Ultra 7 265KF is outperformed by the new AMD Ryzen 9000 “Zen 5” CPUs. However, this is just a benchmark test and results can vary significantly depending on the workload and how well the application is optimized for the specified CPU.

The Arrow Lake desktop CPUs are expected to launch in October 2024. The initial lineup is expected to include three chips: the Core Ultra 9 285K(F), the Core Ultra 7 265K(F) and the Core Ultra 5 245K(F).

All these new CPUs will be compatible with LGA 1851 socket motherboards.
