Rancho Cordova man sentenced to life in prison for murder of two 18-year-olds

A Rancho Cordova man was sentenced Thursday to life in prison without parole for the 2020 murders of two teenagers.On Nov. 1, 2020, the Sacramento County District Attorney's Office said Andrew Granderson shot Joseph Ash and Micah Nero during a party.The prosecutor said Ash and Nero hosted the party and Granderson's friend was robbed of his jewelry by unknown assailants. The friend told what happened to Granderson, who returned to the apartment, knocked on the door and shot both victims when they opened it. Granderson was arrested more than six months later in Las Vegas. A Rancho Cordova man was sentenced Thursday to life in prison without the possibility of parole for the 2020 murder of two teenagers.

On November 1, 2020, the Sacramento County District Attorney's Office said Andrew Granderson shot and killed Joseph Ash and Micah Nero during a party.

The prosecutor said Ash and Nero hosted the party and unknown people robbed Granderson's friend of his jewelry.

The friend told Granderson what had happened, who returned to the apartment, knocked on the door and shot both victims when they opened it.

Granderson was arrested more than six months later in Las Vegas.

On October 18, a jury convicted Granderson on two counts of first-degree murder, use of a weapon, and special circumstances of committing multiple murders.
