Chase Claypool is a free agent entering the 2024 season.

The Buffalo Bills have agreed to an injury settlement with the wide receiver and he can now join a new team once he is healthy again, according to NFL Networks Mike Garafolo.

According to Myles Simmons of Pro Football Talk, the Bills placed Claypool on the injured list earlier this week after he suffered a toe injury that kept him from playing day to day.

The Bills signed Claypool to a one-year contract in May, hoping to further strengthen their team following the trade of Stefon Diggs to the Houston Texans and the move of Gabe Davis as a free agent to the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The 25-year-old has played for four different teams since 2022 and finished the 2023 season with the Miami Dolphins after joining from the Chicago Bears in October. In his time with the Bears and Dolphins last year, he rushed for 77 yards and one touchdown.

The best years of Claypool's career were his first two seasons in the league with the Pittsburgh Steelers. The former second-round pick had 873 receiving yards and nine touchdowns through the air and two rushing touchdowns in his rookie year in 2020 and added 860 receiving yards and two touchdowns in 2021.

Claypool had hoped to get his career back on track with the Bills, who need more receivers this season, but instead he's looking to get back on his feet elsewhere.
