According to Allegheny County police, 29-year-old Alyssa Galiano was driving a Jeep while drunk and crossed into oncoming traffic, killing the passenger of the other vehicle, Michael Vernon, 74.

Galiano's 7-month-old daughter was also in the Jeep.

According to a criminal complaint, Galiano had just left Nox's Tavern and Grille in Blawnox where she had consumed several drinks. The accident occurred about two miles away.

A witness told police he was driving behind Galiano and saw her drive onto the median and then take off “like a rocket.”

According to police, the Jeep was traveling at about 120 km/h at the time of the collision, significantly faster than the speed limit.
