Information sought on shootings north of Pierz involving signs, mailboxes and deer shot from the road

The Morrison County Sheriff's Office is asking the public to submit information regarding shootings in the county.

Sheriff Shawn Larsen says officers responded to the Harding area north of Pierz yesterday after a poaching complaint and multiple reports of shots fired at street signs, mailboxes and electrical boxes.

A dead deer was found with a gunshot wound from a 12-gauge shotgun, and several mailboxes, street signs and two separate electrical boxes were shot out. Authorities believe the deer was shot from the road.

Empty shell casings were found in several locations in Platte and Pulaski townships. The only available details about the suspect vehicle are that it was an older truck and was noticeably loud.

Investigators believe the incidents are related and occurred in the early hours of August 13, between 12:30 a.m. and 1 a.m., and again on August 14, around 4 a.m.

If you have any information regarding this incident or the vehicle involved, you are asked to contact the Morrison County Sheriff's Office at 320-632-9233.
