Judge Hudson imposes prison sentences in Grundy County District Court

On Thursday, Judge Steve Hudson announced guilty pleas and prison sentences in the First Division of Grundy County Circuit Court.

Stacy Craig of Trenton pleaded guilty to three counts and received three prison sentences: six years for possession of a controlled substance, four years for unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and four years for abandoning a corpse. The sentences must be served concurrently.

Purdin resident Denis Logan Linard pleaded guilty to an amended charge of driving while intoxicated – aggravated offense. Linard was sentenced to seven years in the Department of Justice. He was ordered to pay $300 to the Law Enforcement Restitution Fund. The court ordered that Linard be placed in a residential treatment facility.

Tara Leanne Weimer of Trenton pleaded guilty to third-degree assault. She was sentenced to four years in the Department of Corrections. The sentence was suspended and Weimer was sentenced to five years of probation. Conditions include participation in the Compass Health Network Program.

Kirksville resident Polis Yege pleaded guilty to an amended charge of driving while under the influence of alcohol – aggravated – and driving while license is revoked or suspended. Yege was sentenced to seven years in the Department of Corrections for driving while under the influence of alcohol and four years for driving while license is revoked or suspended. The sentences must be served concurrently. The court requested that he be committed to an institution.

Anthony Alexander, a resident of Indianola, Iowa, pleaded guilty to two felonies and two misdemeanors. He was sentenced to seven years for possession of a controlled substance and four years for unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. The sentences will be served concurrently. The prison sentence was suspended and Alexander was sentenced to five years of probation. He must donate $300 to the Law Enforcement Restitution Fund, receive medical treatment from the Veterans Administration, and submit to monthly urinalysis. He was fined a total of $251 for driving while his license is revoked or suspended and speeding.

Stephen Walker of Trenton pleaded guilty to an amended charge of fourth-degree assault. The sentence was suspended and Walker received two years' probation. Conditions include attending an anger management and marriage counseling program, maintaining employment for 30 hours per week and providing a safe home for his children.

At a hearing, Melissa Brill of Galt admitted to violating her probation. Probation was revoked and Brill was sentenced to seven years in prison for two counts of possession of a controlled substance. The sentences will run concurrently.

Kathy Jo Campbell of Trenton surrendered her probation. The court sentenced Campbell to four years in the Department of Corrections for possession of a controlled substance.

Samantha Ratkovich of Trenton was stripped of her probation after admitting to a violation. She was sentenced to five years in the Department of Corrections. The court requested that Ratkovich be committed to an institution. Her original charge was auto theft.

Kansas City resident David Ray Gamble admitted to violating his probation. His probation was revoked and Gamble was sentenced to seven years in the Department of Corrections for drug possession. The court requested that Gamble be committed to an institutional setting.

Among other charges, Jessica Joy Weeks of Trenton pleaded guilty to illegal possession of drug paraphernalia. Sentencing was postponed until September 12. The court determined that she will be released from jail on special bail conditions, including supervision by the North Missouri Court Service. Weeks must also appear in Third Circuit Treatment Court.

Jeffrey Chad Corbin of Trenton pleaded guilty to illegal possession of a controlled substance. He will be tried in Third Circuit Treatment Court. Sentencing will be announced on September 12.

Mathew David Lee of Trenton is scheduled to appear in court on April 2 on a charge of failure to pay child support. Tamashya Latrece Foster of Fulton is scheduled to appear in court on April 10. She is charged with two counts of first-degree drug trafficking, attempted drug trafficking and illegal possession of a firearm.
