It is now officially confirmed that JoJo Siwa is in a new relationship.

Former Dance Moms star JoJo Siwa, 21, revealed her relationship with fellow dancer Dakota Wilson on August 14 by sharing a photo of the two on Instagram. She also posted a video clip of the couple hugging tightly on her Instagram Stories.

In the video, Dakota is seen dancing in a studio and performing a choreography in front of a mirror. She then turns to the room and excitedly shouts, “I have a girlfriend.” The room erupts in applause as JoJo and Dakota hug and celebrate their new relationship.

In a joyful Instagram Story, JoJo shared a video of the couple embracing with the caption, “The cat's out of the bag,” and tagged Dakayla. Dakayla responded with her own post of the video, writing, “Surprise shawtyyyyy.”

JoJo also reposted a fan page's congratulations post with side-by-side screenshots of her and Dakayla hugging, captioning it, “💕I'm happy for them and glad they're happy together @itsjojosiwa.”

Following the big reveal, JoJo posted a photo of the couple holding hands outside with the caption, “Perfect day.” Dakayla echoed the sentiment on her own Instagram Story, calling it “literally the most perfect day.”

The exact timeline of JoJo Siwa and Dakayla Wilson's relationship is still unknown, but JoJo publicly revealed that they were recently together over the weekend. The TikTok video posted by Siwa showed her participating in a dance class led by Wilson.

“My friend was teaching a dance class so I took a weekend off from being JoJo Siwa and became her all-star assistant,” she captioned a TikTok video of her dancing. “@DAKAYLA WILSON destroyed my whole body for this but IT WAS WORTH IT.”

JoJo Siwa's last relationship was with TikTok star Avery Cyrus, who she split from in December of that year after just three months of dating. Siwa made the announcement on TikTok and to put a twist on Silly Putty, she called it a “sorry I broke up with you” gift. In the comments of the video, she explained that they realized they were happier as friends and were still in the process of defining their relationships.

For example, Dakayla Wilson was accused of having a fake relationship with Anthony Curley from season 18 of So You Think You Can Dance. Although the two remained friends throughout the season, nothing developed between them after the season ended.

In March, JoJo Siwa jokingly described her love life as “messy” in an interview with PEOPLE. When an interviewer described her as orderly, Siwa quipped, “Actually, I'm sure you wouldn't like to know, but I'm sure you would like to know. I have a good word for it: messy. I'm messy.”

In November 2023, Siwa shared her thoughts on love with PEOPLE, revealing that she took advice from Special Forces stars Tyler Cameron and Nick Viall. Viall had advised her to accept being a “mess” in love until she turns 21 to give her more time to master her love life.

The Karma singer spoke about dating despite a busy schedule, noting, “I'm a lover. I crave it. But that's a good thing because I know when I'm in a relationship, that's the most important thing to me, and sometimes a little too much. I put friends, family and career aside to just focus on the relationship.”
