Bouncer in Florida charged, videos show sexual assault of several women

A 48-year-old man who worked as a bouncer at bars in New Smyrna Beach was arrested Thursday afternoon on charges of sexual assault that occurred at least four years ago.

Medard “Ned” Keene was arrested following an investigation by the New Smyrna Beach Police Department. The investigation began when the agency received a tip from an acquaintance of Keene.

According to police, the acquaintance came to police after he “found several of Keene's cell phones with several stored videos that appeared to show 'explicit sexual abuse.'”

“All of the videos depict females, all believed to be over the age of 18, engaging in various sexual encounters being recorded and/or touched by Keene without their consent,” police added in a Facebook post announcing the arrest.

Medard "Ned" Keene, 48, a bouncer at local bars in New Smyrna Beach, is arrested on Thursday, August 15, 2024, after investigators obtained cellphone videos allegedly showing Keene "explicit sexual abuse" with several women, according to the city's police department.

In one of the June 2020 videos, which police called “one of the most egregious,” Keene allegedly sexually assaults “an unconscious woman in a vehicle” while the victim is “unable to respond, move or speak and is clearly unable to consent to the acts performed on her,” the agency's social media post said.
