Suspect sought for shooting man in neck in East Harlem

Police are searching for a suspect who allegedly shot a man in the neck in East Harlem last month.

According to police, the suspect fired a gun around 3:14 a.m. on Tuesday, July 30, striking a 24-year-old man standing outside 327 E. 101 St. The victim suffered injuries to his neck but survived the attack, police said.

Emergency medical services responded and transported the victim to NYC Health and Hospitals/Bellevue in stable condition.

Meanwhile, the shooter fled the scene on foot to an unknown area. The suspect did not know the victim, authorities said. Police have not yet confirmed a motive for the shooting or whether anything was said before the incident.

No arrests have been made yet, but the New York Police Department has released surveillance video of the fugitive suspect.

The investigation is still ongoing.
