Father and son charged after argument with police at Wayne County Fairgrounds

Palmyra, New York – A father and son are facing charges after an altercation with police officers at the Wayne County Fairgrounds Thursday night.

Dominic Affronti, 23, of Hyde Parkway, was allegedly asked to leave the grounds after a fight around 10:15 p.m. He is accused of re-entering the fairgrounds and fighting with Wayne County officers again, injuring two of them, before he was arrested.

Dominic's father, 62-year-old William Affronti of Palmyra, is accused of shoving a deputy as he was being escorted off the property and of trying to intervene as his son was being arrested.

Dominic is charged with third-degree assault, trespassing, resisting arrest and obstructing arrest. He was released with a summons and ordered to appear in court at a later date, according to the Wayne County Sheriff's Office.

William is charged with resisting arrest and obstructing government activities. He was also released, ordered to appear in court and given a date for a new trial.
