Teenager killed in car accident

BUFFALO COUNTY, Wis. (WEAU) – An Arcadia teenager was killed in a traffic accident yesterday when he lost control of his vehicle and went off the road.

According to a press release from the Buffalo County Sheriff's Office, at approximately 3:21 p.m. on August 15, dispatch received a call from the Trempealeau County Sheriff's Office saying they had received an SOS call from an iPhone that had detected an accident.

The accident occurred on S2262 Boland Valley Road in the township of Glencoe.

When emergency responders arrived, they found a 16-year-old boy from Arcadia dead at the scene.

Officers determined that the driver had entered the northbound ditch and lost control of his vehicle. The vehicle struck a sewer and the wall of a nearby bridge.

The driver was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident. Officials concluded that speed played a role.
