Death investigation underway after discovery of human remains | News

MEMPHIS, Tennessee – Officers with the Memphis Police Department (MPD) discovered human remains Thursday evening, police confirmed to FOX13.

According to MPD, the remains were discovered around 9 p.m. on Thursday, August 15, near the intersection of Pecan Circle and Airways Boulevard.

According to police, officers were in the area investigating another incident when the remains were discovered. They were taken to the medical examiner's office. The identity of the person and the cause of death were not immediately known.

Memphis police have not commented on whether the death was the result of foul play or what unrelated incident led to the discovery of the remains.
