Man arrested, accused of possession of 1.8 kg of marijuana and 250 g of mushrooms

COLUMBUS COUNTY, NC (WECT) – The Columbus County Sheriff's Office seized drugs and made an arrest after stopping a vehicle on US 74-76 on August 13, according to the CCSO.

“During the operation, the detectives stopped the vehicle and, after establishing sufficient suspicion of a crime, conducted a search of the vehicle. During the search, approximately 250 grams of mushrooms and approximately 1.8 kilograms of marijuana and marijuana extract were discovered,” the CCSO said in a statement.

The driver, Randy Dakota Jacobs of Maxton, was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession with intent to sell/deliver marijuana
  • Maintaining a vehicle for the sale of a controlled substance
  • Trafficking in Schedule I controlled substances
  • Possession of drug paraphernalia
  • Failure to fasten seat belt

He was taken to the county jail on $125,000 bail.
