Premiere of the second season of “Accused” is postponed by one week due to the vice presidential debate

Fox has postponed the premiere of the second season of the anthology crime series Accused The original date was October 1, which was postponed to Tuesday, October 8, to coincide with the recently scheduled vice presidential debate between Governor Tim Walz (D-MN) and Senator JD Vance (R-OH), moderated by CBS News.

The premiere of the second season will air on October 8th at 8 p.m., followed by Murder in a small town. The second episode of Murder in a small town will still be broadcast on October 1, but now at 8 p.m., followed by the debate, the broadcaster announced on Friday.

From Fox Entertainment and Sony Pictures Television, Accused is a collection of intense, contemporary human stories of crime and punishment. Told in flashbacks from the defendant's perspective, each episode is a fast-paced, provocative thriller, covering a different crime in a different city, with a completely original cast. The series is based on the BBC BAFTA Award-winning crime anthology of the same name by Jimmy McGovern.

The cast of the second season includes Felicity Huffman, William H. Macy, Nick Cannon, Michael Chiklis, Taylor Schilling, Justin Chambers and Danny Pino.

Accused was developed for American television by Howard Gordon, who serves as executive producer along with Gordon, Alex Gansa, David Shore, Erin Gunn and Daniel Pearle. Gordon and Pearle serve as co-showrunners. Milan Cheylov, Frank Siracusa, John Weber, Jacob Cohen-Holmes of All3Media America, Jimmy McGovern, Sita Williams, Roxy Spencer and Louise Pedersen for All3Media International are also EPs.
