Chase leads to weapons and drug charges against Watervliet man

A Watervliet man faces gun and drug charges after a chase. 33-year-old Daryl Taylor Jr. is accused of threatening another person with a gun in front of a Dollar Tree on Broadway, Watervliet police said. Taylor then fled in a vehicle and was caught by police after a short chase. During a search of his vehicle and a house in the 1100 block of 6th Avenue, police found an illegal loaded .380 caliber pistol, nearly 49 grams of crack cocaine, around 23 grams of cocaine and nearly $6,200 in cash.

A Watervliet man is charged with weapons and drug offenses following a chase.

Daryl Taylor Jr., 33, allegedly threatened another person with a gun outside the Dollar Tree on Broadway, Watervliet police said. Taylor then left the store and was caught by police after a brief chase.

Police searched his vehicle and an apartment in the 1100 block of 6th Avenue and found an illegal loaded .380 caliber handgun, 48.6 grams of crack cocaine, 22.5 grams of cocaine, and $6,191 in cash.

Taylor faces a long list of charges, including illegal possession of a firearm, illegal possession of narcotics, illegal possession of the controlled substance cocaine, illegal use of drug paraphernalia, reckless endangerment, menacing and obstruction of justice.
