West Seattle Blog… | WEST SEATTLE CRIME WATCH: Multi-generational shoplifting at intersection stores; Admiral Mini-Mart burglary

Two reports in West Seattle Crime Stoppers:

SHOPLIFTING ACROSS MULTI-GENERATIONS: The report is from Jennifer at My three little birds:

I hope this could help other small businesses. I have these photos by Doll Parts Collective. This large group of three families came into our store (THREE LITTLE BIRDS) as well as the Doll Parts store down the street. The children trashed the store and caused utter chaos while the women distracted the staff with questions and requests.

Meanwhile, the 7 or so kids left our store one by one and stole lots of stuff from our store. Definitely organized crime. They had obviously done this before. They shared it everywhere. I know the police won't do much, but maybe the photos can prevent another small business from being affected by this. We are so stunned, hurt, and disheartened today. …They stole a really expensive stroller system, toys, and clothing. They worked fast and seemed to know in advance what they were taking. At Doll Parts, they also searched the employee's purse and wallet. The police officer who helped today said they instruct small businesses to never allow large groups into the store at once for this reason.

We will add the police report number as soon as we receive it.

Break-in at a mini-market: We requested this report from police the same day (Tuesday) and only received it today. Police responded to the call at approximately 2:16 a.m. that a store manager or owner checked the camera after a call from the alarm company and saw “a smashed front door and cigarettes everywhere.” They then confirmed that someone had broken in by smashing the front window with a large rock; the burglar(s) took “several items.” A video of the break-in was later provided to police, but the report summary provided to us did not include a description.
