Another video in the “Taming the Twin” series released — General Aviation News

In collaboration with Sporty's Pilot Shop, the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association's Air Safety Institute (ASI) has released the fourth of five videos in its “Taming the Twin” series, featuring tips for safely operating a multi-engine aircraft.

“Multi-engine operations require the pilot to systematically respond to the failure of one of the engines during flight,” said Paul Deres, vice president of operations at ASI. “Taming the Twin: Engine Failure During Cruise” describes the process of identifying, verifying, troubleshooting and securing the failed engine. The video also discusses how to discuss the subsequent single-engine approach and landing and why a single-engine go-around should not be considered after a stabilized, fixed-landing approach is achieved.”

The final video in the series – Taming the Twin: Engine Failure in IMC – is scheduled to be released in October 2024.
