Two people in hospital after accident at Huron County Fair, says fire chief

HURON COUNTY, Ohio (WTVG) – Two people were hospitalized following an accident at the Huron County Fairgrounds Friday night, according to a Townsend Twp. Fire Department captain.

Firefighters told 13 Action News that a driver participating in a carnival event collided with a truck on the final jump of the track. The accident injured a person who was standing next to the truck at the time.

Officials said the person standing next to the truck was taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition. However, no further details about her condition could be given this morning.

The driver of the crashed vehicle had to be freed using rescue shears. He was then transported to hospital in a stable condition by rescue helicopter. Again, no further information could be given until this morning.

The incident remains under investigation by the Huron County Sheriff's Office.
