Newmarket hockey star Connor McDavid's wedding photos go viral

NHL superstar, captain, leading scorer and Newmarket MVP Connor McDavid has added a new title to his repertoire: loving husband.

McDavid married Lauren Kyle on a private island in Muskoka in July. The wedding photos appeared in Australian Vogue magazine, and Kyle also posted photos of the wedding on Instagram.

“I married the love of my life and it was the most perfect weekend I could have ever imagined,” Kyle, an interior designer, said on August 13.

The wedding photos were widely shared on social media and news outlets as the hockey world celebrated the occasion.

Several NHL teammates are seen as part of the wedding party, along with other friends and family members.

Kyle added a video of the rehearsal dinner on a historic steamboat on August 14, which was “romantic and old money themed.”

The wedding photos received more than 141,000 likes on Kyle's Instagram.

“Just beautiful,” said someone from the Newmarket area.

“You both looked incredibly beautiful. Every aspect of this wedding was filled with meaning and love. A true testimony,” said another fan.

McDavid lost the Stanley Cup final in June, but the City of Newmarket supported the run by broadcasting live all of the Stanley Cup final games in public spaces.
