Otsego Sheriffs arrest two in Oneonta for drug possession

ONEONTA (WBNG) – The Otsego County Sheriff announced the arrest of two Oneonta residents for possession of controlled substances.

Officers responded to an unrelated report, and an on-scene investigation revealed that 56-year-old John M. Nack was in possession of more than ten grams of suspected methamphetamine, according to the Otsego County Sheriff's Office.

During the execution of a search warrant, additional controlled substances were seized.

Nack and 25-year-old Samantha L. Truax were taken to the Otsego County Sheriff's Office and due to the amount of drugs, Nack was later transported to the Otsego County Correctional Facility.

Truax was issued a summons to appear in Oneonta Municipal Court and released.

Nack was charged with two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and one count of second-degree criminal possession, while Truax was charged with the same seventh-degree charges.
