Indian actress posts chat and reveals casting director's 'compromise' suggestion

Indian television actress Prerna Thakur has leaked a chat in which a casting director allegedly suggested they spend a night together in exchange for a modelling job.

Several actresses in India have previously stated that producers and directors have made them similar offers in exchange for work. Actress Esha Gupta had also stated that she was removed from a film for turning down such an offer.

Prerna Thakur's leak throws further light on the casting couch issue in the industry. According to her colleague Mohit Parmar, who shared the incident, Prerna was contacted for a sari shoot in Bandra with a pay of $40,000. When she enquired about her suitability for the shoot, the casting director replied that it required a “compromise” and suggested they spend a night together.

Prerna Thakur turned down the offer, after which the casting director threatened her with losing her job and ruining her life. The chat was later posted by Mohit Parmar on Instagram. Prerna Thakur has acted in web series and is also a model.
