Shooting in Deming sends three people to hospital

A shooting outside a West Birch Street apartment building injured three people who were flown by helicopter to an El Paso hospital for emergency treatment, according to a Deming police news release. Two people drove to the location around 4 p.m. Saturday, where a shooting occurred involving at least one other person. Three people were injured; their names were not released. Police said the shooting was an “isolated incident” and there was “no ongoing threat.” The shooting is under investigation. As more information becomes available, KOAT will update this story.
