UAW president condemns Stellantis CEO for job cuts

Detroit's auto industry is in turmoil as the president of the United Auto Workers (UAW) union, Shawn Fain, sharpens his harsh words against Stellantis boss Carlos Tavares. The core of his criticism are allegations of price gouging and the company's failure to comply with collective bargaining agreements.

Fain made his latest accusations public in a pointed video on Friday, heightening tensions from earlier discussions during tough contract negotiations. He declared: “There is something rotten at Stellantis; sales are down, profits are down and CEO salaries are much, much higher. The problem is not the market at GM and Ford, car sales are up and the problem is not the autoworkers. The problem is this man, Carlos Tavares.”
