Motorcyclist dies in accident on Freeway 170 in North Hollywood

Police are investigating an accident that killed a motorcyclist in North Hollywood late Friday night.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident was reported shortly before midnight in the northbound lanes of the 170 Freeway near the Sherman Way exit.

Officers were called after learning of an accident between a motorcyclist and a car. When they arrived, they found the victim lying on the highway.

She was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. On Saturday afternoon she was identified as 29-year-old Labrin Gomez.

Three lanes of the motorway were closed for several hours on Saturday while the accident was being investigated. All lanes have now been reopened.
