Job security for temporary faculty members under Haryana Kaushal Rozgar Nigam

The Chief Minister said that the cases of special police officers and temporary public health workers, who are not covered under the Haryana Contractual Employees (Security of Employment) Regulations, 2024, will be examined by a committee chaired by the Chief Secretary to provide them job security.

The Council of Ministers also decided that 2,000 lecturers and visiting lecturers of government technical colleges and polytechnics on fixed-term contracts in government universities will also be given job security till their retirement. This will also be extended to the contractual employees of the Haryana Kaushal Rozgar Nigam (HKRN) through the promulgation of the Haryana Contractual Employees (Security of Tenure) Ordinance, 2024.

“We have forwarded the matter to the EU Commission for approval. Only when the EU Commission agrees will we implement the decision,” said Saini.

The CM said that contractual employees working in registered societies, Haryana AIDS Control Society, Aarohi Model Schools and as computer specialist teachers in District Information Technology Society (DITS) would also be provided security of service, subject to approval by the ECs.

Saini said the Council of Ministers also passed the Haryana Prevention of Public Gambling Ordinance, 2024 to curb online betting, spot-fixing and match-fixing.

The CM said that an amendment to the Haryana Forest Services (Executive) Group Rules, 1998, was also approved to remove the condition of breast physical requirement for recruitment of women foresters, women deputy foresters and women forest guards. Saini clarified that any memorandum taken up in the Council of Ministers will require approval from the ECs.
