Can a bird unfurl a flag? This is the truth behind the viral video of Kerala's Independence Day flag hoisting | India News

NEW DELHI: On Independence DayEvery Indian is excited about the unfolding of national flag but do birds feel the same?
An unexpected video from Kerala goes viral record on the Internet Bird help from a distance to “unfurl” a broken national flag. But the reality is different.
The clip was posted on August 17 and has garnered over a million views on social media.
In one clip, a group of children and elders are seen raising the national flag for Independence Day, but when the flag reaches the top, it seems to be stuck. And out of nowhere, a bird comes and unfurls the flag.
Shilpa, the social media user who posted it, wrote in the caption, “The national flag got stuck at the top while being hoisted. A bird came out of nowhere and unfurled it!”

After the video was posted online, the internet was divided. Some users said this bird “must be the reincarnated spirit of a patriot” and called it a “divine intervention”. One of the users said, “Context missing: The crow is sitting on the coconut leaf behind the flagpole. Did not affect the flag being unfurled. It is clearly visible at 0.25x speed.”
However, a follow-up video dismissed the bird's magical intervention and claimed the confusion was solely due to the camera angle.

Alt News co-founder Mohammed Zubair shared a video from a different angle, showing that the bird is not flying near the flagpole but is merely sitting on a coconut tree behind the flag and has nothing to do with the unfurling of the flag.
