Two dead, man arrested after accident in Janesville

JANESVILLE, Wis. (WMTV) – Two people are dead and a man has been arrested following a crash in Janesville early Saturday morning.

Janesville Police and Fire Departments were called to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of E. Delavan Drive and Beloit Ave. in the City of Janesville at approximately 2:14 a.m. Saturday.

The investigation revealed that a 32-year-old Janesville man failed to stop for a red light on Delevan Dr. and collided with a vehicle traveling north on Beloit Ave.

Both people in the vehicle, which was traveling north on Beloit Avenue, were pronounced dead at the scene by the Rock County Coroner's Office.

According to JPD, the arrested driver showed signs of impairment and failed the sobriety test.

The investigation continues with assistance from the Wisconsin State Patrol Accident Reconstruction Team.

The man is accused, among other things, of manslaughter while intoxicated.
